Alternative Investment Funds (AIF)

AIF can be established in Cyprus through the CySEC and they can be sold internationally on a private placement basis to investors.

AIF can be in the form of a:

- Company

- Limited Partnership

- Common Fund

and there are three different types of AIF that can be registered that all allow for legally segregated sub-funds to be created:

* AIF Public - No limits to the number of investors

* AIF Professional - No limits to the number of investors

* AIF Limited Number of Persons - This is the most flexible type and the number of investors is limited to 75 but it cannot take the form of Common Fund.
